The last full weekend of August is a baseball weekend in the Triad. Both the Grasshoppers and the Dash play their final regular-season home dates on Sunday afternoon, and the rest of the calendar fills in around them with markets, outdoor jazz, barbecue and a comic convention. Plan the outdoor parts for Saturday and Sunday if you can: the National Weather Service forecast for Greensboro has showers and thunderstorms likely Friday with a high near 85, then mostly cloudy and 85 Saturday and mostly sunny and 87 Sunday.

Downtown Jazz closes its season Friday. Terence Young headlines with Saundra Ross opening at Corpening Plaza, 237 W. First Street in Winston-Salem, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. It is the fifth and last date of the 2026 Downtown Jazz series. You can bring outside food and a small cooler; outside alcohol is not allowed and coolers are checked at the gate.

The Grasshoppers host Hub City all three days. Greensboro takes on the Hub City Spartanburgers at First National Bank Field, 408 Bellemeade Street, with first pitch at 7 p.m. Friday, 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Sunday is the last home game on the Grasshoppers regular-season schedule, so this is the final weekend of downtown baseball this year.

Two Greensboro markets run Saturday morning. The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market is open 8 a.m. to noon at 501 Yanceyville Street, and The Corner Farmers Market keeps the same 8 a.m. to noon window at 2105 West Market Street, year-round and rain or shine. Doing both in one morning is an easy loop.

Beer, Bourbon & BBQ lands at the fairgrounds Saturday. The festival runs noon to 6 p.m. at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds. VIP admission is $85 and gets you in at noon; general admission is $39 and covers 2 to 6 p.m.; a $25 entry-only ticket is sold onsite. Every level comes with a sampling glass.

The Dash wrap up their home slate too. Winston-Salem hosts the Bowling Green Hot Rods at Truist Stadium, 951 Ballpark Way, at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. As with Greensboro, Sunday is the last home date on the Dash schedule, roughly half an hour west if you want a second ballpark this weekend.

Greensboro Comicon takes Sunday. The one-day convention runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Greensboro Marriott Downtown, 304 North Greene Street, with comics, cosplay, gaming, panels and local creators and vendors. Children 11 and under get in free with a paid adult ticket, and parking is free.

Everything above was confirmed against the venue or organizer’s own calendar on Thursday. Times and lineups can still move, so check the link before you drive.
