The first genuinely dry stretch in weeks lands on the right weekend. The National Weather Service’s Raleigh office has Greensboro sunny all three days with a zero percent chance of rain — near 70 degrees Friday, 78 Saturday and 79 Sunday. That takes the guesswork out of the outdoor half of the calendar, which matters more than usual here, because the waterpark shuts for the year on Sunday.

Friday night the Grateful Dead catalog gets a workout at The Move, 523 South Elm Street, where Athens, Georgia band Cosmic Charlie play a set built on the Dead’s improvising habits rather than on copying the records. Doors at 8, music at 9, $20 in advance and $25 at the door, 21 and up.

Saturday starts at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market, 501 Yanceyville Street, open 8 a.m. to noon. Shop the produce tables first.

Boxcar Bar + Arcade gives its Saturday over to Boxtoberfest at 120 West Lewis Street, noon to 1 a.m., with $5 drafts, Great Lakes Oktoberfest pours and giant soft pretzels. The stein-hoisting competition is at 6 p.m. and FOREVERJABRON play the patio from 8 to 11.

At 5:30 p.m. the Greensboro History Museum, 130 Summit Avenue, hosts ¡Quinceañera!, a quince dress fashion show and a community panel on what the tradition means, marking Casa Azul of Greensboro’s fifteenth year. It runs to 7:30 and it is free.

Wet ’n Wild Emerald Pointe, 3910 South Holden Road, is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and closed Friday. Its own published calendar carries no open days in October, so this is the last weekend of the 2026 season.

Sunday morning the Mix-Bake pop-up takes over the kitchen at Neighbors, 507 Simpson Street, from 8 to 11 a.m. The bakers are posting the menu to Instagram closer to the day.

Sunday evening closes with Moon Glow Flow, a full-moon class led by Debbie at the Marshall Muse Gallery, 314 North Church Street, 6 to 7 p.m. It is $22 and includes a drink and a sweet, and the listing asks that you arrive with some grounding in the basic postures.
